The image is of the front façade of The Bodley Head Publishers building on Vigo Street W London The building is a light coloured brick The door is surrounded by two long windows on either side and three smaller windows directly above the door and long windows The door and windows curve out in a bay away from the building The door has a detailed decorative frame around its edges and has nine window panes on its upper half and a mail slot directly below The surrounding windows also have small panes There is a long light coloured drape hanging inside the long window pane on the left side Above the topmost centre window hangs a detailed escutcheon that frames an oval plaque with a male figures face Above a rectangular plaque with the inscription JOHN LANE PUBLISHER BELLES LETTRES BODLEY HEAD Two ornate wrought iron railings in front of the brick building on either side of the doorway On the right side gate hangs a light coloured rectangular sign with the words JOHN LANE THE BODLEY HEAD VIGO STREET There is a paved sidewalk running parallel to the building in front of the railings On the left side of the building appears to be the side of a dark building with one long window pane The artists initials E H New appear in the left hand corner of the image Another set of initials C H Sc appears in the right corner of the image On the upper right hand corner of the image appears a floating light coloured rectangular box that reads THE BODLEY HEAD VIGO ST W Telegrams BODLEIAN LONDON Among the words there are four identical decorative leaves The image is framed by a decorative header and footer The header reads JOHN LANE with a decorative pattern on either side of the words The footer reads CATALOGUE of PUBLICATIONS in BELLES LETTRES all at net prices The image is bordered by a thin black line The image is vertically displayed
