The woman is wearing a long dress and the man is in a pale white bodysuit. They are woven together by strings or ribbons which are being pulled by four women located in the right foreground of the image, who appear to be dressed in costumes of various kinds.. At left, a masked Harlequin in a diamond-patterned suit stands behind the couple, brandishing a long ribbon over their heads. In the background, men and women stand on a terrace behind an ornamental half wall; some have their arms raised and one is playing a lute. A knight in armour stands in the top right background observing the scene from the raised terrace.
